I require assistance choosing a major for college.. and perhaps even a college to match.?

Hey there, Yahooians. My name's Troy. I'm a senior in high school this year and am beginning my applications to college! However.. I have to find the colleges that I want to apply to first.

Before I continue, I'd like to list the majors I'm currently interested in. These are mainly broad subjects, and thus I'd like your assistance finding more specific majors in each of the subjects.. and perhaps even point me in the right directions in terms of "this is NOT the major for you".

* Astronomy * Astrophysics * Physics

These are the majors I started off looking at, as I'm extremely intrigued by space - and thus, astronomy; the other two are.. well, astrophysics is basically a combination of astronomy and physics, while a strong-suit in physics is required for astronomy. I've had my heart set on astronomy for quite a while now; I've quite the intellectual mind, if I may say so myself. A science seems to be the perfect fit.

Other majors I was observing. Note: these are relatively broad, as no specific major intrigued me more than others.

* English * Earth and Planetary Sciences * Philosophy * Psychology

I understand that psychology tends to be a popular major/minor, and, of course, I'm also quite intrigued by the scientific study of the human mind. As for philosophy, as the word implies, I've a thirst, or love, for knowledge. English.. I've always been an acceptable writer, understood English very well.. I love learning about English.. of course, what I'm writing now isn't 100% grammatically correct, but I tend to love being in English class. Earth and Planetary Sciences.. same as astronomy, I guess, with a bit of superfluous interest in geology and meteorology.

Well, there's a list of subjects/majors I'm interested in. Hopefully somebody can point me in the right direction as I continue.

I love science. I love mathematics. I love history. I love English. It's who I am: I love learning. I went through a rough time as a freshman and sophomore, and thus my GPA suffered - luckily not heavily enough to completely ruin my chances in a good college. My current GPA is a 3.48 - basically a 3.5. I'm almost positive I can raise this to a 3.6-3.8 this year. I scored a 1900 on my SAT - afterwards, I decided that the colleges I was looking at do NOT require a "superscore" of 2100+ on the SATs, so I haven't - and don't plan on - retaking them.

************** TL;DR ****************

My apologies for the 'wall of text', as trolls would put it: tl;dr. Anyway, here's the tl;dr version: I need some help with some information regarding each of the above subjects/majors and possible specific majors within each of them that YOU think would be a good fit for me. [Subjects: Astronomy, Astrophysics, Physics, English, Earth and Planetary Sciences, Philosophy, Psychology] I'd also like some assistance with colleges: I live in New Jersey and am looking for colleges in my area: Maryland, Delaware, New York, Pennsylvania, Massachusetts, etc.

-- If you managed to read all of that, congratulations and thank you for your time. Hopefully you can assist me with my future. If nobody decides to respond to this.. then, hm.. I suppose I'd have to show my guidance counselor this question. Hoho.

Update:

[PE2008] That's the truth, and I appreciate that. But, according to my interests, what do you think would be a good thing to major in in order to find a 'good job after college'?

Update 2:

You can go ahead and throw "computer science" into the mix. I believe that has some good opportunities for employment in today's growing (technologically) world.
