Crusing with a college student in December?

We want to go on a 4-5 night cruise with my 20 year old daughter, when she comes home from school in December. (We'd be leaving from Florida.) We could either do this Christmas week, or the week before.

Over Christmas, I notice that the rates are pretty high. Not so much the week before. I want my daughter to have a really good time and hopefully meet up with people her age onboard. Does anyone have experience traveling the week before Christmas? Would my daughter be bored silly ... or should we go over Christmas?

Also -- where do 20 year olds hang out? She's too old for the teen club....

there is no place or scheduled programming for the 18-20 year old crowd on any cruiseline.

go during the less expensive week. the number of people her age will not significantly change if you travel at that time.

If you are thinking about THIS year, it is almost definitely far too late to sail the week of Christmas. Those cruises sell out months in advance, notwithstanding the very large increase in price. Your only choice for this year is almost certainly going the week prior to Christmas week. I suggest you meet with a travel agent in your area.

As to what your daughter can do on board a ship, she can do anything and everything any adult is allowed to do, with the sole exception of drinking alcohol.

The week of Christmas is going to be jammed packed with a bunch of kids.
