Whoa Zito is starting game one and Bumgarner game 2?

They had no choice really. The only ones ready for the first two games would be Lincecum, Bumgarner and Lincecum. Zito is the best choice for game one, and the other one would be a toss up to me. If the extra rest can help Bumgarner then it is a good choice, as Lincecum provides a nice option out of the bullpen for the Giants.

The Giants are just too hot right now to get crushed. The SF crowd will be going NUTS. If the Tigers don't win game one this series will be over in 5 or 6 games. From top to bottom the Giants lineup is better, maybe not more power, but definatley more solid. Defensively the Giants are better by ALOT. Bullpen goes to the Giants. Homefield advantage SF. Starting staff is a push. Verlanders great, so is cain. scherzers good so is vogelsong. anibal and fister vs zito and bumgarner id say is equal. It is going to be an intense match-up. You have arguably the best pitcher in baseball, Verlander, with his big bats who are hot right now going against a pitcher who is becoming stronger after having losing pitching records, Zito, with his streaking hitters.

I say Tigers win by a margin, unless Valverde gives up like five hits again.

Who are they going to start instead? They can't start Cain because he was used to win Game 7 against the Cardinals. They can't use Vogelsong either because he would be on very short rest too. They have no choice but to use Zito for game one.

Zito will abuse the Tigers so much that the ASPCA will have to step in to intervene.
