What could cause cat nipples to darken at the tips?
The cat in question is an 11 year old unspayed female that has never been pregnant or even around a male. She is tortoiseshell in colour, but most of her nipples are light pink. All six seem to have darkened tips, but there is no scabbing, discharge or sensitivity. Is this anything to worry about?
It's nothing recent, but I don't remember always having this. I'd say I've noticed it a few years ago, though I really can't say exactly.
She is definitely not pregnant, there are no males that can access her, this can be ruled out.

Is this something new, or something you just noticed? If it is something new, I would suggest taking her into your vet or giving them a call to see what they recommend. She could possibly be pregnant at 11 years old since she is not spayed. There are a lot of pregnancies that seem to occur even though the girl was never around any males. We tend to underestimate the tenacity of the male species when a female in heat is involved. They will do ANYTHING to get to her, you'd be surprised.
