Stage Door protocol/etiquette in London?

Next week I am going to see Les Miserables (Thursday) and Phantom of the Opera (Friday). I will get to see one of my favourite actresses in each (Sierra Boggess in Les Mis and Anna O'Byrne in Phantom). I have heard that you can go to stage door after a show and get autographs and I really want to do this, but the problem is that I am a very shy, quiet, nervous person. I'm worried that I would say the wrong thing, and I'm worried that they'll just walk right past me and I'll be too scared to say anything.

So I guess my main questions are: What is the required/appropriate behaviour when waiting at stage door (aside from the obvious 'be polite')? Are there typically a lot of people? Any other information would be helpful :)

Thank you!

Hi! I do not live in London, but I go stage dooring all the time! they are some of my favorite actors as well. I am very shy, but all you need to do is wait by the door for them. Sometimes they say they will not come out, but they usually do. If its a night show and even sometimes a matinee there are a lot of people. The best you can do is have your playbill, pen, and camera already set so when they come around you can get everything you need. If there is a line they usually try to move down it pretty quickly. Just tell them you really enjoyed their performance you so are a huge fan, theatre people are very grateful! :)

Shakespeare seems to have come to London it slow interior the previous due 1580s, in spite of the reality that it is not familiar precisely whilst, or how he became an actor/playwright. The theatre he performe din became into initially familiar in common words by using actuality the Theatre, by using actuality it became into the 1st one equipped in London. It became into in Shoreditch, to the north of the city. Shakespeare's first performs began to be achieved interior the early 1590s, it somewhat is not familiar precisely in what order, yet it sort of feels that the three aspects of Henry VI have been between the earliest, as became into Richard III, and the comedies Taming of the Shrew, The Comedy of Erros, and Love's Labour's lost and a couple of gentlemen of Verona. those are all concept to have been written by using making use of 1595. the owner of The Theatre, James burbage, equipped a sparkling theatre in Blackfriars, besides the incontrovertible fact that the interior sight voters complained to the Privy Council (theatres weren't seen good in this era), and Burbage became into no longer allowed to persist with it. He died in 1597, leaving his sons Richard and Cuthbert to deal with the difficulty. They keen to finance a sparkling theatre by using making use of offering shares interior the form to the 5 maximum standard game enthusiasts (alongside with Shakespeare), and then taking down The Theatre progression in Shoreditch, and rebuilding it on a sparkling web site, south of the river in Southwark, decrease than a sparkling call, The Globe.
