Can I use 2 IP addresses on a computer?
I have 5 computers on a networ and 3 unpacked Public WAN IP addresses. ending 80, 82 and 83. 81 is being used on the gateway.
My propblem is that my computers on the LAN are all set up using 192.168.1 5-10. I cannot ping unpacked IPs until they have been assigned to something.
Can i assign/ADD the .80 address to the 192.168.1.5 PC?
In network adaptor settings advanced tab it stated ADD IP address so i have 192.168.1.5 and 87.232.4.80 both using 255.255.255.0 subnet and both having gateway 192.168.1.1 PLUS 87.232.4.81.
Would this setup work if i waas running a mailserver which needed a static IP 87.232.4.80.
The DNS zone files on my webswervers configured to use mail.mydomain.com and MX using the 87.232.4.80 address.
This is effectively having a 192.168.1.1 network with a 89.232.4.81 network also but if this wouldnt work, why the need to ADD IP addresses in advanced tab of network adaptor?
I need to keep my 192.168.1.1 network but also to assign 3 WAN Ips to PCs.
Because the unpacked ips are not pingable untill assigned to a PC i cannot just use port forwarding unless i can get a new router which will prot forward 87.4.232.80 to 192.168.1.5 using port 25 for example.
Any advice configuring this would be appreciated.
RECAP
My 5 computers are all configured using 192.168.1.5-10 Private LAN IPs
I have 3 Unpacked Public Static WAN IPs and i need to assign each of them to one of the 192.168.1.5-10 PCs.
CAN THIS BE DONE?
Thanks.

I have 5 public IP addresses. Four of them I run through a Linux firewall, where I set up all necessary NAT and then place those addresses on an internal LAN. On that internal LAN, I add secondary routers, one for each public Ip I wish to use or assign.
The 5th public IP is run direct from the switch in front of the Linux firewall. That is, the service comes into a switch first, then I have a standard router with one public IP, and the Linux router with 4 public IP.
The issue is that Windows does not like assigning two different IP addresses to one network card. Linux has no problems with it... Thus, a single Ip address can be assigned to one router, but multiple IP to one network card usually goes through some Linux machine.
With a Linux firewall, you can assign (route or NAT) any public Ip to any given internal LAN IP address (for servers), or range of addresses (for PCs)

You need a router or firewall that will allow you to assign the global IPs as static IP translations on the outside (internet) facing interface (.81). This way any Internet traffic for your mail server for example would be recieved by your WAN device as 87.232.4.80 and translated to an inside address of 192.168.1.5. This way internal devices have a private IP address and your router has all the global IPs configured.
Since routers are designed to connect networks, you typically cannot run the same network (87.232.4.80/29) on both sides of the router, the rules for most routers will allow only one router interface to attach to any given network one time.
Recap:
Configure all your global IPs for the outside interface and use NATting (static translations) to connect to your internal services (i.e. email) and run your private IP space (192.168.x.x) on the inside.
hope this helps!

behind your firewall (your router is a firewall) each and every device must have a unique IP manage. Your router makes use of community manage Translation (NAT) to make connections to the exterior international, so the internet will see all of your machines as a unmarried IP manage, the accepted public IP manage on the exterior interface of your router.
