As an Australian, what were you doing in the years Paul Keating was prime minister?

I was born and was doing whatever people do before primary school. What about you?

The thing that sticks in my mind is trying to survive the " recession we had to have " ...Keating's words ! Personally we were trying to raise 4 kids , private school fees , high interest rates ( ours were capped @ 13% but many others were on 17.5% )

That arrogant barsteward didn't have to worry ...he made squillions while he screwed the average Aussie for nearly a decade !

If it was 1991 to 96, I was working in human resources, then took a year travelling up the east coast, then a year in hospital admin and then a couple of years working in adult literacy. My first child was born a few hours before the Libs got voted in in 1996. The last thing on my mind during those years was politics.

Studying at UNSW, and I met my now husband there.

I used to enjoy the 'rubbery figures' and 'how green was my cactus' send ups of Keating as the undertaker Pall Bearer. I liked Keating, he was obviously extremely intelligent and he was very entertaining.
