Actually the best time to go to the caribbean is in the winter months. No hurricanes and its usually not too rainy, yet still quite warm and not near as humid. The less expensive ones go because they want the crowds (most people take vacations in the summer) and dont really care if the weather is bad or not during your cruise.

Royal Caribbean! Go along with Voyager category (formerly the largest ships on the planet until the liberty of the Seas just made it is maiden voyage). There's so much to do. The nightclubs are fine along with the mall and casino. You will not be bored! I'm going each year and haven't gotten bored yet.

That's interesting, I never noticed that. I assume you mean Silversea and that sort of line. I suspect because the mainstream lines go there a lot as kids are out of school, and they prefer to avoid the crowds. And noisy kids. Not to mention it's a lot hotter than in the winter.

From June to the end of November is hurricane and tropical storm season. I can tell you from personal experience, being out on a ship of any size isn't much fun in a storm. I was on a trans atlantic trip from Halifax to France on an ocean liner when we hit the tail end of a hurricane. I was in my bunk for two days, and only up to use the head.

because you wouldn't want to take a cruise to Alaska in February......you go in the summer.......the cruise lines move their ships around....it's called "repositioning"...... to take advantage of weather and tourist patterns
