    The retail price of a product is $77.30 per square metre. Trade price is retail is 12.5% less. Calculate the trade price?

    OK.

    I choose to change the percent into a decimal, so that would now be 0.125.

    Now, I would like to first find 12.5% of the retail price, so:

    $77.30 x 0.125 = $9.6625

    Now, subtract that from the original amount, so;

    $77.30 - $9.6625 = $67.3675

    Rounded to the nearest hundredth place like all money is;

    $67.37 per square meter.

    Trade price = Retail Price less 12.5% of retail price = $77.30 - $77.30*12.5/100 = $77.30*(100-12.5)/100 =$77.30*87.5/100
