lighter for rare usage - zippo?
Very infrequently, I need a flame to fuse the ends of nylon rope.
If I get a zippo lighter and use it every other week, will it keep its fuel, or does the fuel evaporate out even if the lighter isn't used?
Is there another option? I don't have a gas stove.
Thanks.

Hi Frank! You are correct, all lighter fluid will evaporate. The average evaporation is about 2-3 days. For more information regarding your Zippo Windproof lighter, please visit our FAQ page!

I've noticed refillable lighters DO tend to lose fuel if not used frequently.
I'd just get a couple of cheap Bics and keep them around.

Buy a Bic lighter, they are cheaper and last a long time when used intermittently.
