Polishing Black Cars?
As we all know, waxing a black car is the hardest thing to do; get rid of the grime and wax it until it shines without leaving swirls. Swirls in the paint/clear is the hardest thing to get rid of, especially if you're just using a microfiber cloth. What I've been reading about doing a perfect finish on a car is using a polishing compound, but which one is the question. 3M makes some good stuff, but I'm looking more towards a kit. If a kit is not available out there, 3M material may be the choice.
So, give me a list of all the things I will need, including tools and equipment, to restore the paint to its original luster, minus the swirls and scratches.

If you want to get swirl marks out with compounds, you're going to need a good rotary buffer and learn how not to burn the paint with it. A Porter Cable 7424 will help, but it's not powerful enough to get the really bad ones out. You could try wet sanding, but that's difficult and scary for some people too....
Zaino Brothers has a great kit that has a compound, all in one, stage finishes, and a scratch remover (will cover up swirls). It's a bit expensive, but it's a synthetic polymer that give a superior reflection. It also lasts for a long time on the car (about 6months). The downside is that it lacks the depth of a carnuba wax. Best thing to do is to do the Zaino treatment and build up a nice base with multiple coats, then put on a good Carnuba after all the Zaino. It will give you the best finish.
You'll need some wax applicators, the actual polymers/waxes, 100% cotton towels, wash mitt, good quality car soap, glass and interior cleaners, chamois, etc. I recommend the Porter Cable 7424 if you're not familiar with buffing a car, you can't burn the paint with it and it is powerful enough to remove some of the swirls with a good compound. If your paint is in really rough shape, you should stick with the 3M or Meguiars compound stage systems...

Turtle Wax's Black Box kit is a special three-step kit/process to help restore, polish, and protect your black car's paint finish.
The first step is a restoring pre-wax cleaner to remove contaminates from the car's finish, a restorative carnuba wax, and a protective detailer.
All three steps contain special black pigments to help fill in scratches and hazing, but won't permanently stain skin or clothing so you can apply them by hand or machine.
