What do I need to do to Fatten up my pets?

I need some good advice on how to fatten up my animals a little without making them obese. First of all, I have 2 mares,Buttercup & Lightning, that are on the poor side. They are both old and active, but get plenty of hay, mineral block, and grain twice a day. I also add a fat supplement called Cool Calories to their feed. I have two other horses that their weight condition is fine. Buttercup usually get's poor this time of year, but picks back up in the spring. Lightning, on the other hand is usually like a butterball all year around. (Lightning is a Tennessee Walker)

My dogs are also having another weight problem. I have one old dog, who's usually that fattest one we have, is turning out to be the slenderest one we have. I'm not too surprised that he's losing weight this time of year because he's old, but I would like him to gain just a few pounds back on. I also have a couple other dogs that are losing weight, but their very active. They are hunting dogs.

My cats, I have no problem with. They eat like pigs.

Please don't be rude when you answer to this. I just don't my animals looking like they came from the pet cemetery. Plump and healthy is what I want them to be! Thank you for your time.

Update:

~They are wormed on a regular basis and I think they need to gain an extra few pounds for the winter just like people do. I rather them to be like a Butterball than skin & bones. I also tried increasing their food intake some, but I didn't see any changes. I just need some good products or supplements I can use to put in their food. Trust me, we've owned pets for many years and having chubby pets around here shows your a good owner.

"Plump" is not healthy. You should be aiming for lean with all your pets. If you seriously want them to be overweight, even just slightly, simply to please your aesthetic standards, then you are risking their health.

If they are genuinely underweight, then are they regularly wormed? Otherwise, I would ask your vet's advice on whether they are a good weight before you try to go piling weight on them because *you* think they are too thin, because they might not be. It may be that you and a professional have a very different idea of underweight.

ETA: If you are more concerned about how you look to others than the health of your pets, go ahead. Being overweight is a serious health concern, be it "chubby" or "obese". It's good to know you're more interested in appearances than caring for your animals. Makes me a bit sad for your pets.

To fatten up a rat is a fun thing actually and very easy. Strawberry yogurt, scrambled eggs with cut up hot dog weenies mixed in, mealworms, waxworms, chicken baby food. Those are all healthy and great things for them. Always give fresh fruits and veggies to them along with their food. P.S To the person with the comment on a snake...if you ever fed a sick rodent to your snake your snake in return would catch what the rodent had and most likely die itself or cost you a fortune at your reptile vet.
