Would Christians protest if doctors were allowed to prescribe recreational drugs?

Question

Think of this system; doctor's being allowed to prescribe safe recreational drugs that will get you high on the weekends. The doctors can monitor your consumption of the drug and when you show signs of addiction, the doctor can change the prescription to a different dosage or a different drug so that you don’t become a slave to a bad habit. This would eventually put unscrupulous drug dealers on the streets out of business. But would Christians complain about such a system?

Why would a doctor prescribe a recreational drug anyways? That's like saying your doctor prescribed you a shot of whiskey. Doctors aren't in the business of prescribing recreational anything.

I see where you're going with this, but there's no real reason to include doctor prescription into a recreational legalization discussion.

A 'doctor' is for medical reasons, not a legalized dealer for 'fun', nor a psychologist for when too much is too-much.
