You should go to your vet just to make sure because the rat could have poison in it (you may have poison traps, or it came from somewhere else and had poison there). But really, as long as he didn't eat it, he should be fine.

Just watch him over the next few days. Other animals do. This all the time and they live, so your dog will probably be ok.
