What’s seven things you like about Answers?

A very happy 7th b'day to Y! Answers on this memorable day 12/12/12.

Personally, i like Yahoo answers very much (this is not to please you, its a truth). I browse Y! Answers more than facebook.

On this special day, 12/12/12, i would like to give 12 reasons instead of 7 that why do i like Y! Answers-

1. It is a very helpful website that allows us to ask questions and give answers.

2. The most interesting thing is the 'Points' and 'Level' System, that encourages the users to give more answers and progress.

3. The 'Top Contributor' badge is really a sign of respect for those who give answers regularly and it encourages the users (me too) to give more answers.

4. Through this website, i have made many friends. I reside in india but i have my friends in U.S. that help me, or sometimes i help them if they want.

5. A good and a knowledgeworthy website. You can always learn new things here by browsing the resolved questions.

6. I like the 'leaderboard' system that gives you the overall ranking in the world or in your country.

7. I like the community guidelines here that allow the safe and proper usage of this knowledgeworthy website.

8. I like the voting system here, and the group 'tiebusters' particularly devoted to vote and clear up the unresolved questions, to ensure that every question has a best answer associated to it.

9. I like the 'Report Abuse' functionality that helps us to report the questions/answers that are against the community guidelines.

10. I like the 'Best of Answers' section very much. 5 questions of mine have been already displayed on that section.

11. I like the 'rating system' where we can rate an answer as good or bad one.

12. Answering the questions on the topics you know well, and helping someone gives a great feeling..

Happy Birthday to Yahoo! Answers! The seven things that I like about Answers are:

1. It is an enduring resource, and is relied on more than many realize. Yahoo! Answers is used as a reference by Wikipedia, Stack Exchange and internet users everywhere. See 1st URL below.

2. There are versions of Yahoo! Answers for everyone in the world, not just in the U.S.A. where Yahoo! HQ is located.

3. I feel like I can genuinely contribute something useful when I answer questions here. That makes me happy.

4. There are many clever, friendly and fun people that use Yahoo! Answers. I always have a nice time here.

5. Yahoo! Answers has attentive moderation, and makes a genuine effort to keep the content safe and appropriate, while not being overbearing. Some silliness, humor and trolls are allowed.

6. I like how structured Yahoo! Answers is. There's a chosen answer, points, everyone can contribute by voting up or down. There aren't rules about who is allowed to have privileges.

7. I like the Yamster and Mike. Yahoo! Answers prizes are better than on most other sites, not that I've won any. But some past ones were great, see URLs below. I like reading the Answers blog. Also, the Ask, Answer and Discover logos are great. They haven't changed, and I like that too.

Here are my Seven things I like about Answers:

1. This site and forum helped me explore new topics that I never thought I would be interested in. I love that!

2. I’ve learned countless new things that I am intrigued in now. I’ve gotten smarter!

3. I have received amazing answers from my curious questions. My knowledge has expanded!

4. I gained knowledge about how others view different choices and decisions. It’s always good to have diversity!

5. I have answered questions that have helped people see differently, it really makes me feel good!

6. I love relating with people and meeting folks who enjoy the same things I do!

7. I go on Answers all the time, and even though I don’t get best answer, I definitely enjoy helping others!

Thank you for what you guys are doing; creating insight for people who maybe never even knew about a topic or feeling. It really adds knowledge and good feeling to those who have learned and answered.

1. I love all the different categories; there is somewhere anyone can contribute to. It's really why I think it engages with users and they keep coming back; it's not like other websites.

2.You see others' view on things and sometimes it can change the way you look at something. I know that there are times when I see a really good answer, and I'll thumbs it up. It's usually something I agree with or just a general nice way to answer it. Everyone has a different opinion, the diversity makes it original.

3. The people, obviously! You see so many people, from countries all over the world. People you'd never meet in real life because of your geographic differences, yet you connect on this website. That's really something special!

4.You can get some really good answers to your questions - the purpose of the website. I think if you genuinely have a question you're curious about, there are people who can help you out. There's so many people with such different experiences, you get viewpoints from all sorts of people, overall you get a really unique answer.

5. It's fun. It's nice to help someone out or get your opinion out there for everyone to see. It's also a great pass time for me, and it's free of course. I find it way more interesting than websites such as Facebook or Twitter.

6.The points. What I mean by that is that it motivates you to reach a goal. At the same time, you're helping someone out. Win-win? Yes!

7. Most people are super friendly and polite, they're not rude. A lot of websites you can connect to, the chat rooms aren't very interesting and can easily become uncomfortable for you. I think that the report button and other resources help keep the Answers website fun and friendly for us users...which isn't a thing you always see on websites.

First of all Happy 7th Birthday to Yahoo!Answers and congratulations to Yahoo!Answers team for surviving through all these 7 years and not giving up on the site!

The seven things I like about Yahoo!Answers are:

1.) Getting to help people from around the world.

2.) Knowledge that one can receive from many answers.

3.) When an Asker says "Thank you" or says that I have solved their problem.

4.) Getting to know more things that you never knew before!

5.) Getting to know other users and making friends from here.

6.) The design of this site, Yahoo!Answers

7.) Last but not at least seeing some glitches/bugs going away for a moment or for good. Haha!

Yay, Happy Birthday Yahoo Answers! Today I went to my Aunt and Uncles Anniversary. So today, I got to celebrate two special events:-)

Seven reasons why I LOVE Yahoo! Answers:

1) It’s Real!

When I first started using the service, I would always have question to ask. I love how personal the Y!A can be. Real people with real questions being answered by real people with real answers.

2) Simplicity with a purpose…

Y!A is so simple to use. It’s not complicated what so ever. I really appreciate that there is a service out there like Y!A where you don’t have to jump through hoops to get from point A to point B.

3) Makes me Smile:-)

I love answering questions. I just started getting into that part of Y!A. Never knew how a simple thing can be so rewarding. Yes, you get points and jump to a new level but that’s not all. When my answer gets chosen as the best, that makes me happy. When the asker puts a comment such as “Thank you, very helpful” well….that makes me smile and makes my day.

4) Prevent Addictions

I recently just quit smoking. There is a lot of time and void that I need to fill in my day with. A quick click or tap takes me to Yahoo! Answers to distract me during the fits. I love Y!A for this one reason…and many more including….

5) I have questions too..

and when I do, I go to Y!A. I must admit, I do get excited over the small things. This includes knowing that someone out there, took time out of their day to answer my question. In a way, human beings are helping their wo(man)kind out just because they want to. You don’t really see that anymore.

6) Yahoo is listening….

Alot of sites and online services, the staff just sit in the back drop and watch. You never hear from them. Stuff like Y!A telling us it’s their britday rocks my socks off. I know that Yahoo! is watching and interacting, just not monitoring or doing that facny webmastering stuff.

7) RANDOMNESS…

and that’s what you will find on Y!A. There is no such thing as a stupid question, but there is such thing as a strange question. I’ve learned so much from this site that I wouldn’t have even thought mattered or existed. This rocks my socks off.

2.) Being able to ask almost any question and sometimes get an almost immediate response!

3.) Interacting with other members. It's just awesome when you can make someones day by answering their questions, and then getting added to contacts!

4.) The overall quality of the site. Now we all know about those trolls living under our community bridge, but the site is full of quality people who will spend their time to help you. And site design isn't bad either.

5.) The point system. It's just plain fun. It encourages you to keep going and answering, even if you get an occasional thumbs down.

6.) Discovering. Forget google guys, we can discover any question and answers on Yahoo! Answers!

7.) Contacts. Time to make some friends!

I probably won't win... but, it doesn't hurt in trying!

Anyway, here are 7 things I like about Answers.

1~ I can ask things on here that I'm too afraid to ask in real life.

2~ I can answer other people's questions, which gives me a warm feeling inside because I know I helped someone.

3~ Points!!! I really like the point system- it gives me a reason to answer other people's questions.

4~ The ability to vote. :D Sometimes I even vote for my OWN answer!

5~ The category, 'Polls/Surveys' because I get to learn new things about other people.

6~ The format. It looks so cool! :D

6) Meeting new people! I've met numerous friends on this website.

7) Finally, the atmosphere. You get the occasional troll, but overall this site pulls together well!

Happy 7th, Yahoo! Answers!

1.. That I can teach and share my knowledge on YA without having to get a teaching certificate or pass one or more interviews

2. That I am member of a global INTERNATIONAL digital community

3. That Customer Care really DOES care about what our opinions are

4. That the Answers teams really do care too, as long as you are willing and can give them enough information to prove some else is targeting your email account to abuse YOU as well as the entire YA community

5. That Yahoo really does care about fixing system glitches, including the "eternal"l glitches, but PLEASE FIX THE AVATAR GLITCHES.

6. That I get to see in almost real time that there really are some very good and kind people out there, despite the troll pandemics YA experiences.

7. Despite my having had four email accounts suspended from YA in less than a year, joining the Yahoo online abuse study group in March 2011 was a truly personally empowering experience for me, since i've been bullied online for a VERY LONG TIME. Being able to discuss moderation on YA has also been personally empowering and big boost to my self-confidence. I am NOT leaving YA, and it does NOT matter to me how many email accounts get suspended from YA OR the main Suggestion board.

I just wish my three pending account suspension appeals will be decided BEFORE I go home for the holidays.
