Bump on collar bone? What could it be?
Hi,
I have this bump in the middle of my color bone. Its not very big, and people don't notice it. But I can definitely see it and feel it. It doesn't cause me pain, even when I press on it. Its not something that is inflamed. I noticed it about 6 months ago and doesn't seem to be getting bigger, but not smaller either.
I am 21 years old and exercise 4 times a week. I have never used any kind of steroid.
Any suggestion of what it could be would be much appreciated. And whether or not I should consult my doctor?
Thank you.

Lumps on or around the collarbone can be caused by many things. More often than not, it's something minor and temporary. If, however, a lump lasts longer than a few weeks, grows, is painful or has no distinct borders, medical attention is required.
it might be a lipoma : wich is a fatty lump, usually located between skin and muscle, that moves slightly under finger pressure. Lipomas can grown anywhere on the body, including the collarbone area. They are harmless and rarely require treatment.
i don't want to scare you with the "C" word, wich is only a minor possibility...
but just in case, you should really see your doctor.
