Why doesn't alcohol affect me?

Seriously, when I drink alcohol, it doesn't change the way I feel. I've been old enough to legally drink for years. In that time, I've tried different kinds of liquor, all to no avail. I don't feel buzzed, I don't feel extra sleepy, it doesn't hit me the next day, there's seriously nothing. I'm a natural insomniac who rarely feels sleepy anyway. Not sure if that contributes anything or not.

I know it's a controversial subject and many people don't believe in it. But please, save the nasty comments. I'm totally serious, and I can't believe that I'm the only person in the world who's like this.

it probably does affect you. its a biological reaction. alcohol absorbes the water in your brain. there is no way around that. if you were to take a motor control skill test while sober, and while drunk, chances are you will have very different results, even if you don't "feel" drunk. really thats what every drunk driver says, when they are pulled over, that they feel fine, they feel sober. they arent. you arent. you just have a stronger tolerance to the side effects than some other people.

Alcohol affects different people at different rates. One person might only need one glass of wine to get drunk, while others could take three. But seriously, don't test this out on yourself.

You may have a gene that prevents significant metabolization of alcohol or blocks it from attaching to your brain's receptors.

    .

Methadone blocks the user's brain from the euphoric effects of opiates.

    .

Perhaps anabuse does the same w/ alcohol.
