The purpose of the rule is to prevent the exact kind of thing you are talking about -- students getting beaten up in school. You'll probably never run into the situation you describe, never have to deal with it, and never have to make a decision about what to do. If the sign at the edge of the lake says "no swimming," but someone falls into the middle of the lake from a low flying airplane, he is obviously not going to worry about what the sign says. He won't just sink to the bottom because he doesn't want to disobey the rule against swimming. But the chances of it happening are extremely small, and the situation you describe falls into that same category, fortunately.
