Blinking engine light?
So I started my 1998 Pontiac firebird today. It was shaking and seemed to be revving itself. I backed out and it was still shaking. Accelerated and still shook and the check engine light started blinking. I had the plugs and wires changed about 3 months ago and just now having problems. Any ideas? Thanks
Poor guys...... Yes, yes, and I emailed u on ur Site

They could have cracked one of the plugs when they put them in. Beware of the grease monkey!

the check engine light is flashing letting you know your car has a miss fire need to have checked due to dumping raw fuel in exhaust and will damage convertor..i would start by checking coils, plugs, wires, its also a 98 most parts stores will hook a scan tool up for free and tell you the code
which will be one of these p0300 , p0301,p0302,p0303,p0304,p0305,p0306,p0307,p0308
which is what cylinder is misfiring that narrows it down to a certain cylinder then its easy from there...
but if its P0300 which is a random misfire could be any would have it checked more.....
for example P0301 is cylinder 1 misfire , P0302 is cylinder 2 and so on......

well it could be involved with the ignition, meaning plugs or wires. A flashing check engine light is not good, also you can take it to autozone and have them do a free diagnostic of the light. they will see what code it is throwing out and you can look it up or they will tell you right there.

One of the wires could of popped off. You might wanna try some fuel system cleaner from walmart to begin with. Did it run like crap after it warmed up too? did it shake more when you hit the gas? If you want i can troubleshoot with you via email, my name is tony. I run the website in my profile to help people from spending any more money in auto shops.
