What is it called when a dancer or gymnast lifts one leg and spins?

I saw a dancer do it and I know some gymnast can? I'm not sure. But they lift one leg above them and spin in a downward motion then come back up to a regular stance. I know that figure skaters do it but I just forgot the name and I have searched everywhere and I'm not finding anything!

That particular skill is called a pirouette. Gymnasts and most frequently dancers use that. Sometimes in gymnastics (i'm a gymnast) we simply call it a turn because pirouettes mean something completely different. (Spins on a bar). Hoped i could help you!!
