Can I be demoted to SPC for no WLC?
Ok, So I have been in the Army now for 6 years, and have been an E5 for the last 18 months. I was pinned SGT while in Afghanistan so i could not attend WLC, Then I had 4 months till I PCS and my las unit was not able to slot due to school, etc, Been in Germany since Late June now and I still have not been sent, now I am scheduled to talk to the SGM about "Why" I havnt been sent and I was told they may try to bust me down to SPC, Can they do that? I am not trying to avoid WLC at all, I just have had other things on the agenda, If I want to goto WLC, what actions can I take to push for it?

Administrative reduction from sergeant to specialist for failure to complete WLC hasn't been done since 2003 (back then it was PLDC). If you was a staff sergeant without WLC then they could bust you back to sergeant if your lack of attendance was due to your own neglect. If your unit wants to make you an E-4 for not going to WLC without any other misconduct or inefficiency then that in itself won't pass the muster at JAG.

They can demote you from E5 to E4 for no WLC, but taking in consideration your circumstancess I am sure they won't. WLC is a Joke school and is handed out pretty easily, you should not have no issues getting it. Just tell him why you have not went to WLC and you are ready to go at any time and you should be fine.

yes, they can reduce you back to spc for not attending wlc
big question is why you have not been sent since you have been in germany

The regs. changed as I was getting ready to get out. Hell YA!, the regs say you have a certain amount of time to go and once it is over, you will be busted back down to SPC and have to go to the board again to get your SPC-P, so I suggest you hurry up and take it!!!
