In terms of speaking for the American black community, why is Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson always mentioned?

There are other regional black leaders like Corey Booker in Jersey or Carol Braun..so why so much focus on them?

I'd really like to hear from other black folks in other countries as to who they consider their leaders.

BQ: So does the frequency in which these names are mentioned show a lack of knowledge or just disinterest in the black community?

Because they're the loudest and the most controversial.

BQ: A grim mixture of both.

I trust you on that. . there are a lot of human beings, myself coated who do no longer think of that Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson talk on behalf of the AA community. yet do comprehend that i'm (and that i'm specific different anybody is too) bored with listening to the race card being pulled for each little element that occurs. I happen to have faith the Sharpton is between the main prejudiced guy or woman I even have ever considered.

I have heard some Black militants / pseudo conspiracy theorists say that people like Al Sharpton & Jesse are bankrolled by wealthy White ( usually Jewish ) Liberals

It makes sense, they did fund the NAACP & HBCU's

Source(s): See youtube videos of Dr. Umar Abdullah Johnson for more info

Because they are loud and won't shut up..... I've lost a lot of respect for MSNBC since they gave Al Sharpton a show . He's a racist, a charlatan and a crook. The Tawana Brawley Case is proof of that.

Jessie Jackson (another racist) is still upset that he couldn't be the second Martin Luther King Jr. because nobody will take him seriously . .......................................................

BA: It's kind of both, just like people who say ridiculous things like "the only thing Black people ever invented was peanut butter". (G.W. Carver didn't invent P.B. - no one knows who did that - he only found [many of them unorthodox] uses for peanuts and peanut by-products, some of which are still used today) and who think the only "heritage month" (which they rant and rave about all year long) is "Black History Month".

    Because they're both retarded.
