DON'T GOOGLE IT and don't copy answers. I celebrate Kwanzaa and know what its about and lots of people don't You know the wrong answer so whats right? I asked this last year and lots of people said " A holiday for greedy monkees who want recognition" That's stupid and wrong.

You actually celebrate it? Where have you been? Please stay in this section and answer questions about the holiday. I'm the top contributor here and I don't celebrate it. To answer your question: Kwanzaa is a holiday created in the u.s. in 1966 as an alternative to the existing holidays and to give people of african heritage a way to celebrate their own culture and history.

Kwanzaa is a week-long celebration held in the United States (and more recently, Canada) but also celebrated in the Western African Diaspora. The celebration honors African heritage in African-American culture
