Hormones and Depression...?

So, I tried finding answers on Google, however I couldn't find any that were satisfactory and gave me what I was looking for. What I need to know, is how can I tell if my hormone levels are 'unusual' or 'imbalanced'? I feel like my hormones are a bit more severe than other girls. I am far more moody, and emotional than any other girls. Perhaps it is due to my Depression, but I feel like My hormones are part of what caused my depression. So how can I tell if My hormones aren't normal?

Saliva hormone test from your gynecologist or there are also online labs you can look for. You order it, take the test, send it back, get results. Around $100-$150 IIRC. If you're young the doctor is unlikely to prescribe anything to change things except in extreme cases though, because it is a dangerous thing to mess with. He might at least recommend you go off birth control or switch the type of birth control (if you're on it) or other mild steps though.

As for whether or not there's a connection if you do have an imbalance, it's complicated. Ask your doctor.
