Why do so many liberals choose to ignore the law of unintended consequences?

Every liberal that I know, and many that I do not know are always agitating for a boycott of Walmart. Almost all of those want nothing less than Walmart to no longer be in business.

Now, enter the law of unintended consequences.

Lets assume that the boycott of Walmart that most of you want is successful, what happens if the Walton family says "fine, we have enough money to live in luxury for generations...close all the stores"?

I'll answer that for you. Over 1.4 million Americans are out of a job. But, I guess that is okay because hey, you succeeded in closing a store that you don't like, and that is obviously more important than the lives of 1.4 million other people, right?

Update:

Walmart destroyed small business? Really? I'll have to make sure that I go to all the small business where I live tomorrow and make sure that I let them know.

Update 2:

Walmart destroyed small business? Really? I'll have to make sure that I go to all the small business where I live tomorrow and make sure that I let them know.

Update 3:

So, another retailer will fill the void "as fast as they can". Okay, and while they are trying to fill that void we still have 1.4 million people out of work, and the liberals will then boycott that company.

Update 4:

Apparently I'm a lot smarter than you Raatz. So, tell me. What will happen to the 1.4 million Americans that are employed by Walmart if they close their doors? The "job fairy" is going to put a time card under their pillow?

Update 5:

Okay, small business sells products made in the USA, and there are an additional 1.4 million people who cannot afford those products because they are now out of a job. As I said...as long as you get what you want (a big business closed down) you don't care about the people that you hurt.

Good, then maybe small retail businesses that sell products made in the USA might have a chance.

You couldn't possibly be more wrong
