T or F: The recent increase in shootings is a conspiracy to change gun control laws?

BQ: If true, which side would you say is behind it? Those that want stricter laws (to reduce shootings), or those that want less control (so people can protect themselves)?

Update:

@ Bookworm 530 - I'm not saying it is a conspiracy. But if it were, couldn't both sides potentially be behind it? You obviously understand why those "liberals" in favor of stricter laws would be behind it. But to see the other side... For people who advocate less gun control, couldn't they use these shootings as a scare tactic? To make people WANT to carry their own guns for self-protection? Idk, just a random thought that popped into my head.

False... I don't think the shootings are the RESULT of any conspiracy.

I DO think that the Liberal Left is LOVING it though... the media reports what are really LOCAL tragedies and blows them up into major National News - all to garner the excuse to push more restrictions. Of course then the NRA and real gun-nuts then go crazy and raise more money to KEEP restrictions from coming into place.

I AM a gun owner... licensed and TRAINED to carry concealed. I have over 30 years of weapons SAFETY training and safe USE.

I DO agree that handguns should be registered and their use restricted to those who have undergone training, background / mental health testing, and are then licensed. I do NOT see the need for "assault weapons" being in the hands of the public... but I also laugh at how the Feds have "qualified" weapons as "assault weapons" based on appearance rather than capability.

This can be a very touchy field, however a very important one in light of what just occurred. Nonetheless, I nonetheless suppose that we will have to be allowed to undergo palms. It's my belief that if anyone rather wants to harm men and women, they'll to find methods to do it even if weapons have been made unlawful. First off, there is undoubtedly a black market for firearms in the united states, and any one connected ample (or simply happens to be within the proper position at the right time) will be able to obtain one in any case. On high of that, there are always improvised explosives one would use to achieve their ends. Nevertheless, i am digressing from my fashioned point. The supply of weapons does not make these humans any more or less prone to damage others if that's their intention to take action. Also for each nonsensical violent act committed through one who gets firearms, there are individuals that have saved their own lives via utilizing weapons. It might be nice to are living in a society where violence isn't an issue, but this may increasingly in no way occur in our lifetime. To each freedom we enjoy, there additionally comes the negative facet.

False, Criminals, by definition, do not obey laws. Psychotic mass murderers do not obey laws. With the proliferation of guns in the United States, if citizens were banned from owning guns, it would only be the good, law-abiding citizens who would obey the laws – precisely the people we want to have guns. Criminals would keep their guns. Psychotic mass-murderers would still find ways to acquire guns. There would simply be less people with the ability to stop or deter them.

The vast majority of gun owners in the United States of America have never harmed another human being, and never will. People use guns for hunting, for sport, or for an absolute last resort in self-defense. The fact that criminals use guns to commit crimes does not mean guns are the problem. Criminals are the problem. If all the guns in the world were taken away, criminals would find new ways to rob convenience stores, to commit muggings, to terrify people, and to commit horrible atrocities and mass-murders. No, gun control is not the answer.

I don't think that's true, no. I do have very strong feeling about the subject, though. I will sum it up with one sentence:

Anyone who thinks that preventing decent, law-abiding citizens from defending themselves would reduce crime, is a complete and total idiot.
