Why do people pretend laws banning guns will prevent shootings?
People who do this in the vast majority of time get guns from the "black market". All bans will do is prevent citizens from protecting themselves. It will make sure only the criminals without badges ( and with badges) will be armed. This will increase events like this, not decrease them. If the teachers and staff were trained and armed, they could have killed him before he killed as many.
I live in Vermont. We have virtually no gun control laws. We have nothing like this happening. People are trained to use guns correctly. If someone tried this in Vermont, they would never have gotten this far. They would have died at the onset. All of these killings occurred in states with strict gun control laws. They don't happen in states with armed citizens.

Criminals are criminals because they ignore laws. Law abiding citizens don't need laws because they would do the right thing anyway. Therefore if Law abiding citizens were prevented from owning guns, only the criminals would have them. Yes?

I understand America has a different culture but we have very few mass shootings here in Britain this is because it is more difficult to get a gun
if one is bought or rented from the black market severe penalties are given - rightly so in my opinion

Not prevent - minimize.
e.g. The UK has strict gun laws.
It has had one school shooting and one machete attack since the Second World War.
But part of the problem lies with American culture.
There are more guns in Europe, but the US seems to have more school shootings than the whole of Europe.

LMAO at SCFC's comment. Yeah, they have less gun crime, but there are more crimes committed with knives and other weapons. I totally agree with the asker. If the teachers had been armed, this would have either not happened or had less victims. Simple answer to the question: They are communist nutjobs! Video games are the problem, not guns
