the best ps3 red light of death fix?

i heated the board right used artic silver 5 and it worked for about 6 months great there is another i see with copper plates and a compound just wondering if anyone has fixed one that has worked longer my comound seems to have dried some so it means its not working right heat sink compound should not dry out for a long time unless still getting to hot

Update:

i got it for free i fixed it for $8.00 used it for six months ill spend a little more to fix it again just dont want to keep taking it apart if there is a better compound that will last there is no need to buy one for a couple hundred or more ill take it apart and spend $8.00 more to fix it again

Update 2:

best thing to do would be get a new ps3, or if you are determined to keep that one, you can bring it to a local game repair show and get it fixed for between $100-$130 usually

Your making things difficult. Just buy a new PS3 because since you opened the PS3 to attempt to fix it yourself Sony won't fix it for you anymore since it goes against their Terms of Service.

    Hope that helps.
