What is wrong with my keyboard and how do I fix it?

I have a Dell Inspiron 15R, and the standard keyboard has terrible keyboard problems. If I press the right arrow key once, I get this: //, and here's me pressing the 9 key with the numlock on ;k, and pressing it when num lock is off scrolled the page down and put an enter at the top of this paragraph. Sometimes pressing the Home key and other arrow keys does the same thing, some keys never work correctly. It's not always the same keys pressed, here's me pressing 9 again : \;lld

This is making me so mad, I can't find an answer anywhere.

No, I haven't tried plugging in another keyboard, that's not an option for me.

Update:

Also, can't find the keyboard drivers on dell.com, not downloading them from some virus ridden site. The computer is a Inspiron 15 Intel (N5010)

Its probably a driver problem which is causing it to interpret your actions incorrectly, maybe try re-installing the keyboard see it if helps. Or go to the device manager and see if there are any updates for the keyboard which will update the driver. If you know the make and model of your keyboard you can also try finding a driver yourself from the manufacturers website and installing it yourself

it sounds like you have a short somewhere in the keyboard, could have been caused by some kind of trauma, or maybe but only in rare cases some type of moisture penetrated the mechanics of the board, but at any rate i can assure you that it is far more cheaper to replace vs. troubleshooting!!! So save yourself the time go grab another at walmart
