I am unable to install yahoo messenger. I've tried numerous times. I get the status message: "Installation unsuccessful". What am I doing wrong?

I am having the same issues. I called the place where I just bought my computer and was told that Yahoo does not yet have a messenger version that is compatible to Windows 8.

it won't install if u didn't have messanger already. yahoo chat was closed only if u had a friends list that u will be able to keep
