Most people don't want vaginal secretions on their actual clothes. Better that they be absorbed by the crotch pad of the panties, yes?

To keep that area clean it is a good idea because females do get moist down there, but no, if you don't want to wear panties with anything, that is fine. Just don't wear grey or tan color clothing because if you do leak a bit, it will show a wet spot and that would not be good.
