Approximately how many more firearms in public possession would it take for the U.S to be a safe place to live?

How does one stop a person that is hell bent too achieve their goal too do something so evil as what happened,You cant! All you can do is find new ways too make sure it is near impossible for it too happen in a school ever again for they like it when their victims cannot fight back. If the President would Sign an executive order that would make all prisoners break rocks with sledgehammers 20 hours per day , Crime in the country would drop 75% overnight. You guys do realise that people get guns in America ILLEGALLY right? the people who get hold of the guns illegal don't care about the gun laws like some of you do. These people would shoot and kill regardless of guns being legal or illegal. What i'm basically saying is your government is using these shootings like Columbine and the yesterdays one to take away your guns. The people who do these shootings have already broken the gun laws so adding a few wont do anything because they don't care about the law in the first place. They want to take away the guns from the responsible and law abiding citizens and then who is left with guns in America?? The ones who had the guns illegally in the first place. How many people are killed by a gun that's licenced to people?????? Good question, many i would assume. Do you know what though???? Those people broke the law anyway so they clearly don't give a sh*t about how many gun laws there are. If you're Solution is to get rid of all the guns in USA then you will be left with all the gangsters and bad people having guns. What are you Americans going to do when some gangster comes to your house and puts a gun to you and your family and threatens to kill you? Well you can't do much if you don't have a gun to protect yourself and he has a gun to attack you with. All i'm saying is that it's not fair that the people who follow the law and have guns for protection in the American republic are seen as the bad guys and yet you guys forget about where the illegal guns come from and how these people don't care if all guns are illegal or if they are legal. The day USA gives in their guns that they use for protection is they day they have enslaved you. How are the Americans going to fight back against the government and military when martial law comes into play and they want to round you up? If you hae guns in USA you can fight back and defend yourselves against a tyrannical government.

Good question. It seems the more firearms there are in public hands, the higher the murder rate climbs and the more mass shootings there are.

In my country we have tightened restrictions since a mass shooting 16 years ago, and since then we've only had one more shooting by a man who used legal guns that he'd owned for years. Our murder rate has also dropped significantly.

It's interesting how your "more guns!" approach seems to make things worse, whereas our "less guns!" has drastically reduced the problem.

There is no total safety in this evil world. Florida proved that allowing concealed carry to all honest citizens caused the crime rate to go down. Unfortunately the 'controlled media' didn't report it honestly. If all teachers were encouraged to carry a weapon, the government schools would be much safer. It would be better to eliminate government schools, but I'm not holding my breath until people see the wisdom of that suggestion.
