Do Christians believe that if God really existed he would entrust primitive human beings to write about him?

That's one of the hardest thins to accept about God, that God can do anything and yet remain totally incapable of writing his own story.

The fact is that humans have long proven that when it comers to the question of God, they cannot be trusted to tell the truth, without exception.

Update:

bagsy84......Have you ever stopped to consider the idea that humans invented God.

That would answer almost everything wouldn't it?

Update 2:

Hiway....So if humans didn't write the Bible then it's all lies then, because that's what it says.

Every book in the Bible is claimed to have been written by human beings.

Spirits can't write!!!

Update 3:

Sara......The Bible mentions many times in the old and new testaments that the earth has 4 corners.

A circle can never have 4 corners!.....Do you need me to repeat that for you?

Do you just skip those parts completely!

God didn't trust them. The Holy Spirit is the only way to hear the Word of God.

Of course human beings "wrote" the Bible. Your question is so sadly simple it's amazing. It was inspirited by God and only truly understood when you invite the Holy Spirit in to hear God's Word.

So far that is the only thing on the planet that can write. would it be better to teach a monkey to write?

He did write through people and said he told them what to write.

We have proof of that. At a time when scientists thought the world was flat he wrote the earth was a circle.

    *** Bible Citations ***

(Isaiah 40:22) There is One who is dwelling above the circle of the earth, the dwellers in which are as grasshoppers, the One who is stretching out the heavens just as a fine gauze, who spreads them out like a tent in which to dwell,

When people thought the earth was on the back of an elephant Job wrote:

    *** Bible Citations ***

    (Job 26:7) He is stretching out the north over the empty place, Hanging the earth upon nothing;

Then read the health laws given in Deuteronomy 23: That was so futuristic we are only learning today about germs to that extent.

So it could not have been written by the men of that day.

Your answer is right in the Bible. Numbers 29:13 says God is not a man, that he should lie. Doesn't say much for man, does it? In fact Romans 3:10 says none of us is righteous and verse 23 says we're all sinners. So you're right. God couldn't trust man to write His story. So He did it Himself as 2 Timothy 3:16 attests: All Scripture is God-breathed (inspired through the Holy Spirit) and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness.

The earth, in ancient times, did not have its spherical connotations as 'planet', or 'globe', nor did the circle refer to a circular boundary to the entire world. 'circle' is more akin to compass, or delimitation circular or otherwise, of an area such as a nation or region

Nor did 'world' itself necessarily have the notion of 'planet', physically, but defined the abstract social space of 'world'. Even when referring to area, it was common to refer thus to the regional extent of the ruling superpower: Roman, Persian, Egyptian, Alexandrian, etc. empires.

Likewise, the four corners did not refer to the shape of a planetary 'earth's' boundaries, but were the farthest reaches from the center of a square demarcation of land.

For the record, I don't see any convincing scientific evidence for the existence of God. Just saying.

Source(s): I'm going by memory, so that won't be perfect, but try Googling: Bible "four corners" kanaph, for a small sample of explanation.

The same God gave humans the entire earth, and yet he planted only a small garden on it. He left the rest of the earth for humans to develop in their own time.

If you gave your children everything, and they did not have to work or prove themselves worthy of it, what kind of children would you get? Lazy children who feel they are entitled to everything without doing anything for it. We see this throughout human history.

God wanted us to prove our love for him by our actions, and in return he gives us more privileges. Just like Isaiah, there have been people who have said to God "Here I am. Send me." Those who were inspired by God to write the Bible had that same willingness. The idea of humans of faith becoming witnesses to the true God before others is a most wise and far reaching concept:

    =

    (Isaiah 43:8-13)

“Bring forth a people blind though eyes themselves exist, and the ones deaf though they have ears. 9 Let the nations all be collected together at one place, and let national groups be gathered together. Who is there among them that can tell this? Or can they cause us to hear even the first things? Let them furnish their witnesses, that they may be declared righteous, or let them hear and say, ‘It is the truth!’”

10 “YOU are my witnesses,” is the utterance of Jehovah, “even my servant whom I have chosen, in order that YOU may know and have faith in me, and that YOU may understand that I am the same One. Before me there was no God formed, and after me there continued to be none. 11 I—I am Jehovah, and besides me there is no savior.”

12 “I myself have told forth and have saved and have caused [it] to be heard, when there was among YOU no strange [god]. So YOU are my witnesses,” is the utterance of Jehovah, “and I am God.

We all have free will to choose to serve God or not. The best way to demonstrate that serving God and praising him is the right way is by showing it by our actions, and by our words. God has inspired a few humans to tell his story, and they along with others of faith make it known throughout the earth, by their words, and by their lifestyle.

Humans may not always be trustworthy, but they are capable of being such, and with the support of God's holy spirit, they can get the message out that God wants humankind to hear. The unvarnished, unbiased history of the Bible's writing is a real inspiration to read. God does indeed have the capability to write his own message, but he also knows how to preserve the truth of his message while allowing humans to write what he has inspired for them to write.

God knows the most effective way to communicate his message to humankind, and this is it. This also gives each of us a responsibility, to listen, to put faith in what is heard, and to imitate those who have successfully applied God's message to their lives, by ourselves becoming a light to the world.

Umm Humans.... Primitive? You clearly know nothing of the human body. We are far from primitive. Especially compared to animals on this earth.

God uses people who are willing and available; He doesn't care how primitive they are, or how "advanced" they think they are. People who believe that they are "advanced" or of superior intelligence tend to be arrogant and God cannot work through them. He will always choose people of faith to do His work, ni matter what their circumstanv\ces are.

They were primitive and superstitious. On top of that, they would have you believe that the jews are the favorite people of Yahooway. Doesn't make any sense to me.

perhaps because it doesn't matter to him? have you stopped to consider that idea?

what you think is important may not even matter to God at all. think about it.

if he wants people to decide for themselves to choose to be moral or immoral, then just allow both to exist and leave them in the middle of it

God is not a man. You're god. I'm god. God is not a man.
