    x/x + 2 + 2/x-2 = x+6/x^2-4

    i'm going to assume you forgot parentheses

    x/(x+2) + 2/(x-2) = (x+6)/(x^2-4)

    (x+2)(x-2) = x^2-4

    (x(x-2) + 2(x+2))/(x^2 - 4) = (x+6)/(x^2-4)

    The denominator on both sides of the equation are x^2-4 so you can multiply by the numerator. Now you get:

    x(x-2) + 2(x+2) = x+6

    x^2 - 2x + 2x + 4 = x + 6

    x^2 - x + 4 = 6

    x^2 - x - 2 = 0

    (x - 2)(x + 1) = 0

    x = 2, -1
