Is online education at the elementary level a partial solution to the problems of today ?

Parents are frantic over sending their children in harms way. Educators suffer the same concerns about the unknown. Is there enough money to pay teachers who take their lives in their hands potentially, every time they walk into a classroom.

Gun control is almost impossible to help this problem. Frankly, many new problems would arise over government controlling guns. Very serious problems.

Online education takes away the target these psychopaths seek. No kids in class could take the emphasis off schools as the number one target.

Update:

BasH: Things change, often out of necessity. Teachers being paid less could have fiscal advantages for which we all over pay in terms of property taxes, etc. I have children of my own who are teachers, yet I can only partially sympathize with economic threat of online edu vs. continued threat to theirs and the children they teach.

We educate our child online, but it isn't for everyone, as most parents have to work to make ends meet. We school at home because my child has specific needs that would overwhelm him in a class full of people and distractions. We love it, but you must understand that online teachers get paid less than half of what traditional teachers are paid, but still have to have the same certifications. So, it would make the teaching profession even less desirable for highly qualified Americans. Some teachers do like being at home during the school day, but many don't see the payoff with such a drastically lower salary.
