What is the closest solar system to Alpha Centauri?

Ok, so I'm writing a science fiction story, and I am trying to make the story as plausible as possible, and Alpha Centauri is where the enemies are coming from (please contain your collective exasperated sighs) but I don't want that to be their native solar system, rather, it's a colony (I'm aware Alpha Centauri only has one planet that's been discovered, I'm going to work around that).

So, what is the closest solar system to Alpha Centauri? Apart form ours of course. And also what are some other relatively close solar systems, that have a star capable of supporting life? (A star like ours, perhaps, or one close to it).

Thanks guys, I really appreciate it.

maximum easily. A supernova is very a huge experience. First, we does not comprehend that it had took place for a sprint over 4 years (AC is in simple terms over 4 mild years away), however the 1st outcomes would attain us. we would experience the mass of gamma rays and neutrinos emitted for the duration of the preliminary blast. Then (if there are any human beings left) we would see the spectacular brightening of the progenitor celeb. it might very probably be brighter than our very own sunlight for weeks if no longer months. Then finally, we would be engulfed interior the expelled gases (possibly some hundred thousand years after the form) via fact the supernova remnant expands. via fact the fabric enters our photograph voltaic device, the planets would have an superb volume of drag placed upon them as they bypass for the duration of the gases. this would reason the planets' to decelerate of their orbits and spiral in in direction of our sunlight. As each and every planet neared the sunlight, they may be slowly vaporized into ashes. The ashes would inevitable fall into the sunlight. Or, no longer something would ensue in any respect different than an exceedingly cool mild tutor for some weeks (or months). i wish this enables. good success.
