Why do conservatives want to cut welfare...?
...when 16 of the 20 states that receive more federal funding than they pay in taxes are Republican strongholds? Are they sadists?
Tsk tsk tsk, no cherry picking the bills, Psycho. Aren't you conservatives always the first ones to defend our lavish military spending policies? Why are you trying to discount that now that the evidence works against you?
Sorry, my redneck friends, I think my vocabulary was too advanced for you guys to comprehend. I'll try to keep it at a 3rd grade comprehension level next time. You know, because that's when you all dropped out of school to work on the farm. That high school economics class would've been nice.

The Sec of Public Welfare in PA said that a single woman with 2 small children earning $29,000 per year is eligible for $28,000 in welfare benefits giving her a little more spending money than if she had a job that paid $69,000 per year. I tend to believe this is true because my daughter knew two single women with small children who were both driving brand new Escalades. Cut welfare? You bet. Cut it back to a sensible amount. See, the problem with your argument is that you don't even understand the problem. You make it all or nothing at all. That isn't the reality of the debate.
By the way, a person who works in welfare eligibility verified this information for me. This is not an exaggeration. He said 20% get on welfare and and are off in a short time but 80% can actually stay on it through all kinds of programs for life.

States with state income tax get to write those off against federal income tax. The citizen of any state with a state income tax gives less to the FEDERAL government than the citizen of a state with no state income tax.
End the tax deduction, close the loop hole, every citizen to pay his fair share.

You are assuming that the people who receive welfare benefits also vote Democrat, though. The fact that they receive more federal funding doesn't mean that Republicans in the state endorse that or agree with the programs that get the bulk of that funding.

Only about 20% of people who apply for welfare are applying for the first time. most of the money goes to the same people time and time again and people with serious mental illness that could be helped are left out. the money needs to go to the right people not to people who go and have ten kids when they couldn't afford to take care of the first one.

conservative here
I would like a reform of welfare to clean up the way it works and how we determine a person needs it. I think givernment is wasteful in their process and people shouldn't get soda and candy or a brand new house with welfare. please take away the incentive for the users of welfare to stay on it and take away the incentive for government to deal it out

Because the government is simply running out of money. Even if we 100% taxed the rich, it wouldn't stop the debt climbing. You have to raise taxes as well as make cuts.

Did you get the memo? We are only going to be talking about guns the next few days.

Because we want to give people fishing poles instead of fish. Fishing poles will make those who need help independent and not needy. Fish alone will keep them slaves of Democrats, and a part of their voting block forever. We love people, whereas Democrats cripple people.
It is time for the lies and the incompetency of the liberals and their corrupt party to be exposed. Let this response be the beginning.

If your facts are correct don't forget to mention that those welfare recipients
in red states mostly voted for Hussein, the closet-socialist maggot...;-)
