Why is my cat showing me his paws when I stroke him?

Almost like he wants to give me a high five. Is that a good thing or does he want me to stop?

Are the claws extended? Is his body language showing that he's upset? More than likely he's stretching or playing. He could be attempting to draw your hand to spots that he wants rubbed. If his claws are extended, then he may be uncomfortable with your strokes. Try different methods, and watch his body language. Tail, ears, paws, and just the general motion of his body will tell you quite a bit about how he's feeling.
