Why are we so upset about the CT shooting?

When hundreds of babies are killed every day in this country at abortion clinics? Why don't we cry for them?

You've got a valid point. There are many many many tragedies that happen every day but because they don't get publicized people don't connect and if they can't connect they can't empathize. There is spousal abuse, child abuse, abuse of the elderly, neglect, starvation, gay bashing, hate crimes, and a host of other tragedies because of greed, ignorance, intolerance and mental illness. But when an event makes national news all of a sudden it becomes the most important issue and everyone demands an immediate resolution.

The people who say that fetuses are not babies are trying to use the logic that an orange seed is not an orange tree. That logic is hard to argue with. However, once that seed is put in fertile ground and fed and watered it is MORE than just a seed or a collection of cells - - NOW it is the potential for LIFE. a person would have to be in extreme denial not to see that there is a MAJOR difference between a WART and a fertilized human egg! Yes, removing an unwanted wart is synonymous with the destruction of a clump of cells, but a fertilized human egg is MUCH more than just cells it is the blue print for a unique and irreplaceable human life!

Most people think abortion was illegal. It never was, but a deal was struck between the Catholic church and the fledgling AMA where doctors would take over abortion and the profitable childbirth practice from midwives in exchange for support from the Catholic church in the AMAs demands for a monopoly on medical licensing.

Doctors didn't perform abortions openly and certainly didn't advertise, but abortions were performed for "medical reasons" and under safe supervision. Why? Because of the consequences of NOT having an abortion. Your life would be ruined and you'd never "get a decent man". The ones enforcing this were old religious biddies and a rape didn't matter because most women wouldn't admit to that.

Fast forward a generation and abortion is available. Now you have "save the unborn" groups. Who are the people who staff that movement? Mostly the same old religious biddies that would have worked their butts off to ruin the reputations of girls who got pregnant a few decades back.

A fetus in the case of abortion:

    Unaware

    Unable to suffer

    Unable to feel fear

A trespasser inside the body of a fully aware person, thus in violation of human rights.

    Has no friends

    Has no relations to family

    Those children:

    Aware

    Able to suffer

    Able to feel fear

A born person who is not at risk of violating human rights by simply existing.

    Has friends

    Has relation to family.

    Or, AKA, common sense.

We don't cry for a fetus because it's a fetus.

We don't cry for a fetus because it's not a person.

We don't cry for a fetus, because there are numerous more people more important than that fetus.

    In other words.

    Born person>fetus.

    The pregnant person>fetus.

    A child>fetus.

    Old Man Jenkins>fetus.

    A fetus isn't anything.

If you're crying over a fetus, one that isn't even wanted, in a situation like this then you should really reconsider your priorities.

Because it's quite obvious that you don't care about that fetus because you value life.

i imagine a large form of persons are turning out to be so used to seeing mass shootings on television those days that they are desensitized to those tragedies if no individual they recognize became in my view in touch. i guess because they sense no longer some thing about, they arrogantly want others to sense an same.

    First answer nailed it.

Fetuses aren't human beings -- they are collections of cells with the POTENTIAL to become human beings, but only AFTER they're born and have taken their first breath.

The 6 and 7 year old children murdered in CT were human beings, with names and personalities and talents and thoughts and emotions. They were known and loved by their families, friends, and neighbors. They were people. Unborn fetuses are not.

Whether or not you have a valid point, it is a cheap and disgusting thing to use the CT tragedy as a marketing gimmick to make your point. Shame on you. Make your own point on its own merit - leave those victims alone - since you obviously don't give a sht about them, only how their tragedy can serve you as a rhetorical device.

No babies are killed at abortion clinics. Your hyperbolic bullsh!t is why no one takes "pro-lifers" seriously anymore.

People love babies and children but when they grow up they don't love them so much..that's what makes me sick.
