They don't care about this they just want the guns gone so they can take over. The second amendment was written to protect the People from tyrants. Every time leftist take over a country they round up the guns.

Recently in a town near me a man working in his basement heard someone breaking into his home upstairs. He grabbed a Mini-14 rifle and 0.22 pistol, then sat down in a chair at the bottom of the stairs and waited. He didn't call 911, he didn't give any warnings to the intruders. When the first one started down the stairs the homeowner started unloading on the intruder as soon as he could see the intruders knees. When the intruder - an unarmed 17 year-old boy - fell to the botton of the stairs completely incapacitated the homeowner shot him in the head with the 0.22. When the 2nd intruder started down the stairs he did the same thing.

The next day the homeowner called the Police.

Is that what you had in mind?

I'm a democratic socialist, not a liberal, but I sympathize with your point.

EXCEPT that when a homeowner has a gun handy, especially when it's easily available & loaded, it can easily be used against people OTHER than burglars.

For example, when I was 5 years old, my liberal father owned a handgun that he kept unloaded in a dresser drawer. My 3 year old sister and I were playing one day and somehow found the pistol.

We were using it to play Cowboys & Indians when my Mom found us - fortunately without anyone getting hurt. But if it had been loaded, and either my sister or I had pulled the trigger ... yuck.

It isn't just young kids who can abuse a loaded weapon in the house, either.

What happens if either Mom or Dad is cheating, and the other one finds out, and there's a really, really angry fight -- and a loaded gun is right there, just waiting to be used?

What if Teenaged Daughter or Son creeps out of the house secretly at night to have sex, or get high, or drink a beer with friends -- then returns home late and Dad, with a loaded gun handy, mistakes them for a burglar?

What happens if there's a screaming argument between a rebellious teenager & a furious parent .. and the gun is right there, just waiting to be used by either one of them?

What if somebody in the house drinks too much, and gets careless?

What happens if somebody is feeling really depressed, feeling that "life isn't worth living anymore" -- and when they think of suicide, even briefly, there's a loaded gun waiting in the next room?

When it's only a matter of the homeowner shooting burglars or potential terrorists -- I agree with you. I don't shed tears for the burglars or the terrorists.

But that's not the way most gun violence happens in the home. I may be wrong, but I think most people who get shot inside the home are family members -- some of them suicides, some of them killed in family arguments.

BECAUSE THE RIGHTS OF THE PERSON BREAKING INTO THE HOUSE IS MORE IMPORTANT TO THEM THEN THE RIGHTS OF THE HOMEOWNER

Lets say I'm getting chased down the street by a rabid dog....I'm going into the nearest house I can find.

And when was it left to us to decide what punishment should be handed out for crimes. Why do you have the right to give this person the death penalty? In my home state, YOU go to jail for doing this. You cant just shoot first and ask question later. This is the US not a dirty harry movie.

My home has been broken into several time.. and I never thought the person deserved to be killed.. I just wanted them locked up.

Why, why does simply breaking into a home deserve the death penalty, what if it turns out that he/she broke in to the home to use the phone to call for help to save a life...

Liberals would prefer to rob homeowners with higher taxes. It is so much easier.

Because Liberals are usually the ones breaking into the homes.

Even if they do, what are the odds that will actually happen???

The problem with home intruders is that they typically have little to lose and they tend to use that to take control of the situation, that and their unexpected arrival. You, however, are caught off guard and surrounded by those you love most.
