When does a fetus become a baby?

Pro choice people are saying a fetus is not a human being, when does the transition occur?

    When the fetus first becomes a fetus., as in

    when, the "sperm unites with the egg."

    That is why you have "prenatal care."

    That's a philosophical question, to which there isn't a clear answer. The range of suggestions is from the moment of conception right up until a year after birth, so there's a lot of disagreement.

    In the UK at the present time, legal rights as a human being are granted to the child at birth.

    No, we're saying it's not a baby. Or a person. Clearly it's of the same species as its mother. The "transition" occurs when it's born. That's why you have a birth certificate and not a conception certificate.
