If Red States take more Federal Dollars in welfare then why do Blue States support Federal Tax increases?
Why not support Lower Federal Taxes and increase taxes in your states?
I understand that some blue states take more welfare but they pay more in Taxes to the U.S. than they take back. Understand?
This is not an attack at Republicans because I live in Louisiana an know it is the Democrats of Louisiana that abuse the Welfare in the Red State.
I also know it is not the Liberals in the Blue states the pay the Taxes.
So I am saying The liberals in Blue states like New York should ask to pay less Federal to U.S. and increase their state taxes for more Revenue for their state.

That's simply not true. Of the top 15 states that have the highest percentage receiving welfare, only one could be considered Red.
They are:
15 Oregon
14 Penn
13 Mich
12 RI
11 Indiana
10 NM
9 Wash
8 Minn
7 NY
6 DC
5 Vermont
4 Mass
3 Tenn
2 Maine
1 California

btw, I'm more than happy for the federal government doing a lot less than they have taken on. Government does nothing well.
@Historyguy No, the question specifically states welfare. As to your point, all federal spending would include social security, medicare, federal retirees and veterans. It's no surprise that more retirees would settle in the warmer climates of the red states. Further, a lot of government facilities are built in red states because they don't have to pay the inflated labor costs of unions and the weather is gentler.
Retirement pay, social security, medicare, veteran's benefits, building and maintenance costs and payroll costs are not welfare.

@ lidell, it is true. The question refers to all federal spending not just welfare, which makes up a minority of federal dollars. IIRC, eight of the ten states that receive the most federal spending per tax dollar are red states while eight of the ten who receive the least are blue states.

Because liberals believe in PAYING for the things that we decide, as a society, to do.
