Why won't Train Simulator 2013 work?

I have owned Train Simulator since it was 2012 edition and I have had no trouble with it, but starting the other day as soon as I launch a mission it crashes and I am taken to my desktop. If anyone has suggestions, please leave it below and I will choose the working suggestion as best answer.

Thanks!

The first and most obvious step is to clear the blueprints cache. You do this by going to main menu > game settings > Tools > Clear cache. When you have done this, close the game down completely and restart it.

If that doesn't work, check that your installation isn't corrupted. In the Steam control panel (NOT TS 2013), right-click on TS2013 in your library; and at the bottom of the list that appears, select 'properties'. In the window that now appears, select the tab marked 'local files'. Then select the button marked 'verify integrity of game cache'. This will check that all your files are present. Warning! If you have modified any default files, they will now revert to the original - so take a back-up if you have done this.

Lastly, I have seen that since the latest update, a few people with very low computer specifications (below the recommended) have struggled. You could try reducing your settings and in particular, disable TSX Mode in Main Menu > Game Settings.

    Happy simming

There is a possibility that the drivers needed for the game are not there, or the video card is not powerful enough to run the game.

What I would do if I were you is to compare the minimum and recommended specs required by the game to that of your computer and see if there are any discrepancies. Upgrades might be possible in that event, but it might be cheaper to upgrade.

If the specs are nominal, then the next step would be to contact the folks that make the program and see if they have any fixes.
