no college money, no place to live, now what?

So, to start, I'm an idiot. I had my whole future planned out. I was planning on going into the marines, but I have a drug problem. I was smoking pot (marijuana) off and on through high school even though I knew it was stupid. I gave it up for a month before I went through military entrance processing (MEPS) but that wasn't long enough, and I failed. I was stupid to think I could get away with breaking the law and not get in trouble. I don't deserve to serve this country and I know that I am pathetic. However, even pathetic people like me need to live somewhere, and when my parents found out that I failed meps they gave me a week to pack up and find another place to live so I have til wednesday to move out. I have no money for college and a minimum wage paying job. I'm an idiot and now I've screwed myself. What should I do? I want to eventually go to college and I need a place to live. Any assistance to this idiot would be greatly appreciated.

Either move in with friends or find a shelter. Start looking for a better job. Save your money for a deposit on an apartment, school, etc. In the meantime, spend your money only on essentials such as food. Find out where you can get free medical care in your area.

You may have to work until you can qualify as an independent student for financial aid purposes. That may take a while (usually until age 24), but it might take less time if you can prove you are homeless (e.g. living in a HUD homeless shelter, etc.)

Look into the work colleges. You may be able to work your way through college.

If you have not given up drugs, do so now. They have already ruined much of your life. Don't let them ruin the rest.

When you have saved up enough money, start taking classes at community college.

If your parents see that you have turned your life around (by giving up drugs, working, behaving as an adult), they may welcome you back and help you out by loaning you money for your education. Pay them back, not only from your earnings, but by being someone that they are honored to have as a child.
