A few drops of REAL Orange juice?

Can I add A few drops of Orange juice ( from an actual orange, not the store bought stuff) to my dogs water for him to recieve some Vitamin C?

Update:

Vitamin C is vital in a dogs diet.

Its great for stress relief, imminune system, healing after sergury, cancer, any type of health issue.

I did the research, just wanted more opinions.

Also, they try to sell you Vitamin C pill for dogs, But I would rather give my dog the real thing.

If your dog is a normal healthy dog and receiving a good dry meal dog food then Vitamin C supplements should not be necessary, especially by putting orange juice in his food!!!

Too much vit C in a healthy dog can produce diarrhea.

Read this article on Vit C for dogs before you add anything to his water or food>>>http://www.whole-dog-journal.com/issues/1_7/featur...

It wont harm your dog, but it would be pointless and a waste of your time. Unlike humans, dogs dont need to consume foods with vitamin C in it as this is usually created by the dogs glandular systems on its own accord.A lot of animals dont need to eat foods that contain vitamin C as many animals can produce it or have no need for it.

Plus as '!There is no reason for Ignorance' stated, there wont be any vitamins within a few drops.

+ A dog synthesizes as much vitamin C as it typically needs through its liver using trace minerals in takes in through its diet. People either never had this ability, or lost it through the ages. When vitamin C supplements are added to a dog's diet, the dog's own ability to produce vitamin C is shut down, perhaps permanently. In addition, the liver and kidney of a dog do not handle well an additional concentration of ascorbic acid. The dog's system works to rid itself of the overabundance of ascorbic acid, causing stress to the organs. A long-term excess of vitamin C can result in kidney and liver damage, which can threaten the dog's life.

Dogs manufacture Vitamin C, unlike humans, so you don't need to add any unless a disease crops up. Up to 75mg is manufactured in their bodies, so unless blood work shows the need for more, don't add any.

By adding supplements when no necessary you can do more harm than good. Read up on canine nutrition so you don't make the mistake of causing problems.
