So besides limits on the Press and on Video Game Violence, what else would you ban to keep the assault weapons?

It's important to have your priorities straight, and all. After all, this is a nation of the Gun, by the Gun and for the Gun...

Update:

The FEDERAL ASSAULT WEAPONS BAN that expired in 2004 banned semi-automatic weaponry, such as was used in many of these recent mass-kill shootings.

    Very prescient point here.

Knowing the distraction-centric agenda of the maximum gun saturation lobby, it's important to not get distracted by the plethora of "other" things the NRA will try to have banned instead of guns/rifles/and any other deadly force weapon that uses high velocity projectile ammo.

Banning crazy people won't stop mass killings because people who appear "normal" one day can always "snap" and decide to punish humanity for their internal mental anguish.

Something left out of the gun obsessed equation is a predominate personality trait of gun owners who consider their "god-given" right to own, possess and discharge their guns/ammo at anyone they "feel" threatened by.

This is highly subjective considering how many young black men have been "legally" murdered in states where the carte blanche NRA manifesto of "stand your ground" laws excuse sociopaths from being held accountable for being serial killers.

Violent video games the cause of school shootings?

Guns WILL NOT get banned. Have you seen Adam Lanza? Just looking at the coward sends a red flag. He had more than enough ammo to take more lives, its quite obvious that he wasn't in the right state of mind. Plus, any insane coward with a laptop, internet, and a couple hundred bucks, can make a bomb and kill 5x the amount of people he did.

Where there's a will there's a way and guns won't stop people from killing.

The contention that we as individuals need to arm ourselves is ridiculous since we have a well armed, well trained professional army. The right to bear arms was introduced at the time when we were seeking our liberty from England. Today there are no such contentions. In the meantime children are killed nearly every single day by a gun. My congresswoman was elected into office when her husband was killed and her son seriously injured on their way home on a commuter train. Are our children our biggest threat? Last week a father killed his son when his gun went off by mistake. A 15 year old shot and killed a 13 year old classmate when they were fooling around with a gun. A father killed his 12 year old on a hunting trip by mistake. Another father shot his 15 year old to death when he thought he was an intruder. Last week a father shot and killed both of his children 4 and 6. On Friday 6 year olds lost their lives because the owner of the guns that killed them was worried about a threat. The list of casualties of our war on children is too long and too upsetting to continue. This idea that we are in danger is nothing compared to the actual, real danger our children face.

How about parents taking responsibility for their kids upbringing, but then again, most parents weren't taught much better either.

Even if an all out ban on all firearms was enacted, criminals would still be able to get guns illegally.

Liberal gun banners still don't get it,their gun control solutions don't work.

TV, movies, books, speaking, expression, and finally thought

Anything but the guns fault, handguns and BArifles fair enough but there is no need for assault weapons

I would not ban the games or movies. Nor would I ban guns.

You put the responsibility where it lies. The shooter is responsible for his actions and the parents are responsible for allowing a child who they know is not mentally stable to watch and play these games while having access to the guns.

Banning liberals would be a start. They need to start taking responsibility for their actions.

Obviously recognizing and preventing mentally ill people from committing crimes would be best.

Besides no one owns assault weapons, but that seems to be the mantra of the left that assault weapons are the reason for crime in the U.S.

I wouldn't ban any of those things. I would just make sure rooms full of children aren't left utterly defenseless by idiotic anti-gun policies.

  • I would ban nothing. Instead, I favor arming school staff at all times.

I would support prosecuting the people who propose gun restrictions.
