Poll: Do you decorate your barn/horses for Christmas?

I've tied two red bows to either side of my mare's halter. She looks really pretty! I don't have a barn, but we keep all our farm-related stuff inside of our second garage which is attached to our house and the whole house is insanely decked out with lights! One time I tied a bow to our pasture gate but my horse ripped it off. :( What do you do with your barn and/or horses to prepare for Christmas?

Have a blessed and Merry Christmas!!!

Well, this year I got to do all the decorating in my barn. I kept it simple. I got a few wreaths and garland for the doors of the barn and bows for every stall. However, over the course of a week, the bows were ripped off by some naughty horses, so no more bows really. I have some lights hanging outside of the barn, which took forever to get up. As for the outdoors, the horses create enough mischief inside, I can't imagine what they would do if I put anything near the pasture.

And a Happy Christmas to you!

I personally don't dress up my horse, because she's such a fidget that she'd either spook or step on her costume :P However, there is a photographer who boards her driving pony at the barn I board my horse at, and she has a tradition of dressing up a couple of the barn horses (with the owners of course!) and making their photos into Christmas cards :) Last year she did a gelding as Santa Claus with a red blanket with white fringe and red shipping boots. and her pony as a green elf with a bell hat and green blanket.

As for me, I put a stocking up on my horse's stall full of candy canes, which she adores! This year I plan to make a gingerbread horse for every boarder and a minty treat for all the horses :) We're also throwing a potluck if that counts as preperation lol. Happt holidays to everyone!

my friend and I take it upon ourselves to decorate our barn :) we bring in lights and hang them up in the eaves to brighten it up a bit. I also hand a stocking on each of my horses' stalls and I'll put little treats in there for the 12 days of christmas, like a candy cane or something because the usually don't get to eat them. I have three geldings, so bows aren't really their things. plus they'd probably just rip them right off their halters anyway.

i did buy a pair of reindeer antlers made for dogs and stuck them on my most tolerant horse blaze. he tolerated them for about 10 seconds before throwing a fit and rubbing them against the wall and snapping them in half, but I got some cute pictures!

Where I used to board we would put a wreath up at the entrance of the barn as well as one small one on each of the horses' stalls and a stocking on each of the horses' stalls.Where I board now we hang a few small decorations and I put a stocking on my horses' stalls.I decorated my barn even though there's nothing in it with lights and wreaths.

I don't board my horses so I can't exactly decorate the barn but I did decorate my pony this year.

    yes!

we have lights on the barn, bows and stockings on the stalls, and bows/ribbon on the gaits. (only on places the horses cannot get/where they cannot eat the decorations)

    Good luck!
