Be honest are gun clips of more than 10 rounds of any use to hunting?
No animal as far as I know, no animal will stick around long enough if not dead after you've emptied a 10 round clip..period.
Unless someone is one of the worst shots on the chart a max 10 round clip is more than enough.
Anything above 10 round clips is meant for something other than hunting...
There is a segment of the American population that believes in eventual armegeddon that requires them to arm themselves to become self made armies...but for the more realistic populace we know the better.

Millions of legal gun owners have 30 round magazines and still manage not to kill anyone. If you restrict the clips to 5 rounds - who is to say that the criminal won't have 6 of them loaded and ready to go - because as we've learned, these insane criminals plan these murders.

The reason Americans are allowed to have guns isn't specifically for hunting or doomsday prepping its in the constitution that if our government gets a big head and tries to dominate the people for which its supposed to serve we can have guns (including ones with over 10 rounds) so we can protect ourselves and if necessary take our country back from them and restore the freedoms it once stood for. We wouldn't be able to to do that with nothin more than 10 rounds. The more people carry guns the more other people think twice about ******* with them. ;)

Page 28 of the 08-09 IL DNR regulations digest seems to state that you can use a large capacity magazine with your AR for coyote hunting. As with any information garnered on the internet, it never hurts to check with THE authority on the issue and call the DNR just to make certain. There is a down loadable version of the 08-09 regulation digest on the IL DNR web site, look to the right about mid page.

Sorry to be a nitpicker, but clips and magazines is a pet peeve of mine:

As for hi-cap magazines...I don't disagree that they make it a lot easier to spray large volumes of bullets. I maintain most gun owners are law-abiding folks who could be trusted with 100-round drums, but we've seen enough of these shootings to legitimately question whether or not we should continue to allow them. Pre-existing hi capacity magazines would still be legal if there was a ban, however. (Ex post facto), so it probably wouldn't make a huge difference in all likelihood.

nope==and I've never supported people being able to purchase 30 round clips. I do support their right to bear arms.

never needed more than two rounds myself -- one to hit and one to kill (if the first one didn't).
