Decide what profession you might want to do, then look at other 4 year colleges if your college doesn't offer those classes, and look at community colleges. The trade type programs vary at community colleges, so look at several in your area to see all that is available, their websites should list Certificate or Occupational programs, or something similar.

Unfortunately, there isn't much in demand here in CA right now for these types of jobs, especially in So Cal. The quick programs, like CNA, are very low salary and when people were being laid off, many went into these types of jobs that didn't take a lot of education, so there is now a glut. In CA it is a much better idea as an RN to get a 4 year BSN than a 2 year RN if you want a decent job, but jobs for new RNs are very few and competitive for employment. EMT training is available at quite a few community colleges, but check to find out the employment/salary situation in your area.

Jobs like electrician or plumber can pay well in the right job, but one needs a long apprenticeship I think.

Culinary jobs tend to be very low pay to begin with, most start off as minimum wage line cooks, not chefs, even those who attend the expensive trade schools.

Trade Tech in LA, a community college, has more trade programs than other community colleges. See if there is a similar CC in your area.

Most community colleges do not have cosmetology, but Pasadena Community College Community Education Center (like adult school connected to PCC) has a very good program, low price, I think about $3000 now, and there may be grants available to help pay for part of the expense.

If you went to high school in CA for 3+ years, then you're a resident and public college will be less expensive than private. (Although it depends on your financial aid package, some private schools offer generous aid which brings the price down.) If you moved out here for college, you are a non-resident and will pay non-resident fee for your undergrad years, which can bring the cost up to private college cost.

    Good luck!

i don't evaluate it inferior. A 4-365 days, classic college isn't for each individual. yet a commerce college is likewise not for each individual. some human beings are not fascinated in commerce jobs. i don't think of one is greater advantageous than the different.
