Why did we turn down the alternative vote UK?
It's blatantly obviously the better system. It's been shown time and time again to more accurately represent the preferences of the people, and it prevents minority rule. Why did we vote for First Past The Post, why?

The UK is dying from the cancer ,greed, selfishness, corruption immigration and obscene wages. The government must legislate on tax avoidance and if a company is found using these methods the government should have the power to tax on UK turnover. These companies and their accountants must be fined. We must teach, with power comes responsibility not immorality. The people MUST fight back. Not by striking or demonstrating [this is ignored] but by exposing the corruption by politicians, banks, big business and the rich.Any one with information about tax avoidance, cheating expenses, insider dealing ,offshore accounts etc. should use the media to bring them to justice. If an MP gives grants or contracts to a friend or family tell the media . The police should prosecute where they can.A person in power should not be able to resign and get away scot free .Public figures should have exposed their salaries, bonuses and expenses published. The elite should have untaxed money in tax havens exposed and disposed. The police [plebs] owe nothing to the MP,s so should look at them through a microscope.Three large businesses have been exposed for tax avoidance and this should continue.Accountants using tax avoidance methods should be exposed .Surveys should be done by the media asking things like do you want the government to stop mass immigration like they promised or should the government legislate against tax avoidance or do you want a vote on EU membership or should foreign aid be stopped while so many of our own people live in poverty or should the tax payer continue to spend over 100 million pounds a year on feeding addicts methadone..It is no good just waiting for the next election as they are all as corrupt as each other. If you love this country as I do then dish the dirt or the cancer will be terminal. My eyes fill with shame when I see people pilfering from supermarket skips for food and the ever increase of food shelters.Make no mistake this is a war that is doing more damage to the UK than WW11, only the enemy is within. We are now shaping the UK for our children, by exposing corruption, dishonesty immorality a leader will emerge who will love the country as I do and serve the people. The UK desperately need a roll model for morality.Every day we hear about another corrupt MP stealing public money and getting away with it so no one can trust our politicians. Our celebrities admit taking drugs and still get media attention. Our rich people boast about their tax avoidance. Our royal family have no family values and embarrass us abroad. Our industry leaders move billions of untaxed money to offshore accounts using tax loopholes. When exposed these people are not punished because they are rich. The UK is ruled by greed and selfishness with corruption the norm.We need one person to say NO MORE .One honest person who is fair and commits to cut this immoral cancer out of our country.

through flow to larger unmarried individual households, damaged properties and the upward push of 2d properties the fairway belt regulations are having to be comfortable because this is the most low-funds thanks to strengthen from an popular city. because Britain has very strict making plans guidelines also what the authorities have achieved is push up the mandatory occupancy charges of an acre released for sale below modern-day making plans guidelines. the position once you've been to get 4 dwellings in holding with acre they now elect 14 it truly is basically 28 people, yet contained in the most forced aspects it really isn't any longer an determination because they could't squeeze any better in, ie the SE . What they are desirous to stay away from is suburban sprawl like New Zealand. New Zealand provides the a million/4 acre as a common abode plot and has tremendous cities by technique of area yet small inhabitants, this in turn calls for prime priced facilities because they cover a lot less people for the money. a lot of this united states is empty and has huge aspects of available land for the favourite public yet you'll discover that the MOD owns tremendous quantities or for sake of argument the authorities owns tremendous quantities and definitely businesses and tremendous land vendors, regrettably those have a diverse status and ought to no longer be privately equipped on. As a observe, there are thousands of empty properties in this united states, for tax purposes and different causes and bringing those lower back into use ought to remedy many of the topics. do not hassle about immigration, such numerous folk go away and also you're amazingly rich as a rustic you may take better. this isn't any longer as undesirable because the scaremongers elect to make out

"It's been shown time and time again to more accurately represent the preferences of the people,"
hahahahaha - rubbish
"and it prevents minority rule"
hahahaha - more rubbish
You obviously have not looked at it properly if you think any of what you stated is correct.
I.E. Ed Millband - most peoples 3rd or 4th preference and yet because of the stupid alternative system he became leader against most peoples wishes.
Yeah,. great system pal.

It would only be of use in contested regions
In most regions one party is in the majority and also for most of the time. In my case it's pointless to even vote because the same party always wins as the gap is too large
The system is flawed because we contest regions and so the results don't reflect the true majority vote
This was a paltry offering which didn't change that underlying problem and wouldn't have made any difference

We may live in a two-party-dictatorship, which is certainly not one that I'd choose, but the present dichotomy works in a fashion. The problem with the Alternate Vote was that it could have given some influence to the Far-Right. Far-Right policies ALWAYS devastate the economy! (History shows that Far-Right governments always result in warfare!) Thatcher was very nearly Far-Right, and the country is still struggling to recover from her dictatorship!

Because two faced Nick Clegg was the prime mover of this policy.
Edit > ELO2JOE > Excellent comments, well said. Totally agree with you and you are absolutely right.

I think it's because a) British people don't like change, and
b) It was far too complex, and people couldn't be bothered to figure it out

British people are too conservative. Also it seem the yes campaign didn't even exist.

I think it was a bit confusing. Also, Nick Clegg.
